16th November was the big Christmas Lights switch-on in Camberley accompanied by an outdoor evening concert.
Starting inside the mall, the Rock Choir sang a couple of numbers, followed by the big lights switch-on, performed by the Bev Harding, Surrey Heath Mayor, and a Snowman.
The crowd were then led outside to Park Street where the Rock Choir performed another set in front of quite a crowd.
After this, we were further entertained by Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble tribute acts who sung for over an hour, a collection of "their" top hits and classic swing tunes. The event was made even more special by the snow machines that added even more of a festive feel to the atmosphere.
Both Vicky and I were involved in covering the event for the Surrey Heath Residents Network which was great fun and between us we got some nice video footage and images from the event. Video-Vicky compiled the moving image stuff into a nice 3 minutes vid featuring the sound of the Rock Choir while I stuck mainly to the still photos - here's the video
As well as shooting the performers I took a few of the audiences and people enjoying themselves in Main Square and out in Park Street - as well as the customary 'arty' shots too of course!
Here is a selection of shots from the event . . .
A great event, well done everyone at #LoveCamberley!
